Background: 

DeepaavaLi is the Festival of Lights. This year in 2021, it will be celebrated on November 3 and 4, however is celebrated over a week with associated different days with variations in different parts of India. Especially in the state of Gujarat, it is also a business New Year. The business community especially celebrate year end closing of accounting books and the following day as the opening of the new business calendar year opening the new accounting books. 

Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped as this goddess is the bestower of wealth. 

The Gujarati culture for the new year is to wish each other “Happy  New Year” by saying  “saal Mubarak”, which is unfortunately all in Urdu language that was imposed by the Muslim rulers on the Gujarati subjects. This is a shameful practice. Gujarati culture and reputation is excellent with this shameful exception. 

I lived in Gujarat as a Senior Scientific Officer in the Indian Space Research Organization reporting the Founder and Chairman of the organization. I enjoyed the very welcoming culture of the Gujarati people.

I wish all my highly treasured Gujaratis that they shake off their shameful practice and start by using PURE GUJARATI WORDS AND WISH IN SANSKRIT BASED WORDS LIKE NAVA SAMVATSARA SHUBHAASHYA”. 

The Deepaka raaga was made famous by the legendary singer Tansen in India few centuries ago. However, this raaga has become very rare in India.

I have done over 3000 music compositions encompassing most of the music genres of the world, even including Chinese, Japanese, Persian, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Western Classical, Techno, Karnataka Classical (South Indian), Hindustani Classical, Israeli, South American and my own inventions of music genres like Raaga Techno, Genetic Music, Math Music, Green - Clean Music and Rhythmic Diversity.

Background

The Indian raaga system in the Karnataka and Hindustani classical music traditions are similar in the general concept, whereas the foundational tenets are different in naming, grouping and the heredity of the different raagas to root raagas or raaga groups in the two systems are very different. 

The Karnataka raaga traditional structure is based on 72 root raagas called mELakarta raagas. ಇಷ್ಟಾನಿಷ್ಟವೆಲ್ಲ ನೋಡುವವನ ನಡೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ?                        ಇದು ರಸಸೃಸ್ಟಿ,  ರೂಪರುಚಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ

[4:44 PM, 1/15/2022] Dr. KRS Murthy: In Lithuania, there are houses adorned with the motif of two horse heads. This is a small clue to Lithuania’s deep and ancient Vedic past.

Traditionally, the people of Lithuania worshipped the Asvieniai, the divine horse twins (Ashvin twins of Vedanta) related to the goddess Ūsinis (Ushas, Dawn) They are said to pull the Sun Chariot through the sky. 

Ashvins, the children of the Sun god Surya, who are summoned by the goddess Ushas (morning dawn) and appear as the morning and evening sunlight. They are practitioners of Ayurveda as Healers of the devas, demigods.

Chanukah is an Israeli Jewish Festival of Lights celebrated during and around similar dates like Christmas. The Israeli music genre is unique, with numerous musicians, violinists, pianists, etc. who have dominated the Western Classical Music Tradition, with conductors, and especially violists like Yehudi Menuhin and Itzak Perlman. Yehudi Menuhin was a child prodigy who played with Late Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pierre Ramphal (Western Flute), L Shankar on Violin, Zakir Hussain on Tabla, and Vikku Vinayaka Ram on Ghatam featured in the famous album "East Meets West". My composition 'ChanukahlyaNi is in Israeli Music Genre.

After I arrived a few decades ago in the USA, in Los Angeles, to take up my professor position, in about two months, I teamed up with the famous Dr. L Subrahmanyam who lived in the Southern California area to create a music group. We hosted and invited great musicians to perform that included Who's Who of Indian music. The artists included TR Mahalingam (Flute), Maharaja Puram Santanam (Vocal), Kadari Gopala Nath (Saxophone). Bala Murali (Vocal), Namagiri Pete Krishnan (Nadaswaram), Dancer Padma Subrahmanyam, etc. We organized all aspects of the music concerts, hosted their stay and all needs.  Subrahmanyam and his brothers L Shankar and L Vaidyanathan are all great violists. with both parents also violinists.
