I want you to clearly know, that brahmins and others have suffered severely, as much as Dalits and other unfortunate people. I could also share my sobbing stories, growing up in a VERY poor brahmin family, which was the case of my many brahmin friends and classmates. However, they all have done well in their education, many with master's and Ph.D. levels, engineers and doctors, at the executive level, all of whom I know at personal levels.
I will list here very poor growing up:
PM Modi, Bharata Ratna Sir M Vishveshwariah, Nobel winner CV Raman, President Abdul Kalam, many Jnana Peetha awardees, many great musicians, many literary scholars, and numerous Indian leaders. I will write more in a blog and share a bigger list.
Even Indian PM Narendra Modi came from humble beginnings starting as a tea seller, yet his determination has made him excel at international leadership levels.
Sir M Vishveshwariah, a genius engineer came from a very poor brahmin family, yet rose to the epitome of Bharata Ratna with numerous accomplishments. Only when you read his life story, you will his genius was balanced by his simplicity.
India has produced great musicians who excelled irrespective of poverty.
Even Sir CV Raman the only Indian Nobel winner in Physics came from a very modest Iyer Brahmin family. I was lucky to have known him personally, only in my teens years, and even shared the stage lecturing on the stage; I am just lucky.
Abdul Kalam and I were colleagues, and know that he came from a very poor background. He has been honored with Bharata Ratna and was the BEST People's President.
Jnana Peetha awardee Dr. Bendre was poor growing up all his life till death. He was a genius of geniuses.
My friend Dr. Chandrashekhara Kambara also grow up poor, became the first Vice-Chancellor of Hampi University authored numerous books, and received the Jnana Peetha award.
I will add more below.
